My favorite recipe that you should cook this weekend! Trust me, this is delicious.

This is one of my favorite dinners to make. If you like chicken and you like cream cheese - you will love this. Chicken Squares™ are a savory pastry of pure chicken awesomeness.

This recipe yields 4 chicken squares. For planning purposes, I usually eat two. Jac only eats one. I’m also well on my way to fat camp. Good with side of rice pilaf and a veggie.

Ingredients:
3 oz cream cheese, softened with a spoon
3 TB of melted margarine/butter (reserve 1TB)
2 cups of cooked and cubed or shredded chicken (or turkey). I just boil the chicken. so easy, and keeps it moist. As for cubing/shredding, depends on whether you want chunks of chicken in there. I like to shred mine.
1/4 tsp of salt
1/8 tsp of pepper
2 TB milk
1 TB chopped onions or chives
1 clove garlic (optional - but i looooove garlic)
8 oz tube of Pillsbury crescent roles
3/4 cup of bread crumbs / crushed croutons

Directions:
• preheat over to 350
• blend cream cheese and 2 TB margarine until smooth - helps if margarine is already melted
• add next 6 ingredients, mix well.
• unravel the crescent roles and separate into 4 squares - NOT 8 triangles. firmly pinch together the perforation.
• if you have a small rolling pin, or big marker (washed) roll these squares out just a little.
• evenly distribute the blended chicken mixture into the middle of each square.
• pull the 4 corners up and twist together to seal. then seal the four edges by pinching together.
• brush top with reserved TB of melted margarine.
• sprinkle bread crumbs on top
• bake on ungreased cookie sheet for 20-25 mins.
• watch the bottoms, they can sometimes burn.
