Over a thousand formerly jaded New Yorkers, fed up with our country and eight years of Bush politics, flooded the streets in pure celebration.
I got kinda teary when the entire street started singing “The National Anthem.” But not in the requisite “I’m at a baseball game way.” People sang because they wanted to. They sang with true pride. It was inspiring. I can’t explain the feeling.
This is the memory I will one day be sharing with my kids, when they ask what it was like when Obama won the election.
